Craig, thank you for expressing with such clarity how many educators feel right now. I think this demoralization started with all the “tests” teachers were required to give to measure this so called proficiency. This pandemic only made matters worse. To this day, I miss working with the students, but nothing else.

I agree. We're in trouble. If those many, wonderful souls called to teaching are demoralized, what next for our nation? Beyond the rhetorical question, what solutions and steps in the right direction can we pursue? Being active and vocal in support of public eduction. Expressing that support to school boards and state boards. Pursuing encouraging relationships with the educators we know. Reminding our students to be respectful of their teachers and a leader in support of teachers among their fellow students.
